Herbal Medicine from Jokowi (Candidate of Indonesian President 2014) to My Husband

Another duet picture style of "Jokowi and Gregory" instead of "Prabowo vs Jokowi"
Prabowo is the first candidate of Indonesian President 2014.
Jokowi is the second candidate of Indonesian President 2014.
Gregory is the first President in the family, forever and ever.
Herbal medicine. I have consumed it since I was a child, especially when I was teenager during my menstruation period. I am a lucky wife who has a western husband who has interest in herbal medicine. Although he doesn't consume it frequently, only when I order it online once/twice per year, he never says "No" to try it.
When I watch the video of Jokowi and his wife who were being interviewed by a famous Indonesian media, they shared the secret of their herbal medicine. His wife always makes this herbal medicine by herself for him every morning and afternoon. There are four ingredients she uses: temulawak, ginger, mung bean water, and honey. YES!!! That was the first word I said after they mentioned them. Then my husband figure popped up in my mind. Yes . . . I would like to make this herbal medicine for my husband. He looked enthusiastic when I told about this.
Now, I have the problem: where I will get those ingredients. Hmmm, maybe at Asian Market in Philladlphia. Let's see if they have those. If you know where I can get temulawak extract, would you please let me know? Mung bean is also difficult to find at any markets around here from Walmart, Acme, Giant, Bottom Dollar Food, etc.

Now, what the health benefits we can get from those four ingredients so I really want to make it for my husband too?
1. Temulawak (Java turmeric/turmeric's twin)
According to an article I read from the Jakarta Post, mentioned "Based on several scientific studies, temulawak has a higher percentage of curcumin, around 68 percent compare to 47 percent in turmeric. Curcumin has the highest amount of antioxidants compared to grape seeds, vitamin C, vitamin E and beta-carotene. Antioxidants help the body fight against damaging free radicals that destroy cells and degenerate the body’s organs. The onset of diseases such as heart disease and cancer, as well as other problems like weakened immune system and premature ageing, stem from these free radicals. In this case, curcumin works both to cure and prevent diseases by regenerating cells. With today’s busy life, the body’s cells are easily destroyed by pollution and consuming chemical-based drugs and alcohols."

2. Ginger
According to an article I read from the World's Healhtiest Foods, mentioned "Ginger is regarded as an excellent carminative (a substance which promotes the elimination of intestinal gas) and intestinal spasmolytic (a substance which relaxes and soothes the intestinal tract). Modern scientific research has revealed that ginger possesses numerous therapeutic properties including antioxidant effects, an ability to inhibit the formation of inflammatory compounds, and direct anti-inflammatory effects."

3. Mung Bean
Regarding to an article I read from Get Healthy, mentioned "Mung bean contains vitamins A, B, C and E, as well as vitally important minerals such as calcium, iron, magnesium and potassium. It can reduce heart disease and cholesterol levels, an antioxidant that supports healthy vision, good for diabetics, support healthy liver functions, help the skin slow down the aging process and strengthen hair and nails."

4.  Honey
According to an article I read from care2.com, mentioned "Honey can Prevent cancer and heart disease because Honey contains flavonoids, antioxidants which help reduce the risk of some cancers and heart disease; Reduce ulcers and other gastrointestinal disorders. Recent research shows that honey treatment may help disorders such as ulcers and bacterial gastroenteritis. This may be related to the 3rd benefit; Anti-bacterial, anti-fungalAll honey is antibacterial, because the bees add an enzyme that makes hydrogen peroxide,” said Peter Molan, director of the Honey Research Unit at the University of Waikato in New Zealand; Increase athletic performanceAncient Olympic athletes would eat honey and dried figs to enhance their performance. This has now been verified with modern studies, showing that it is superior in maintaining glycogen levels and improving recovery time than other sweeteners; Reduce cough and throat irritation: Honey helps with coughs, particularly buckwheat honey. In a study of 110 children, a single dose of buckwheat honey was just as effective as a single dose of dextromethorphan in relieving nocturnal cough and allowing proper sleep."

I can't wait to get those ingredients soon and wonder if my husband will love it.

Mentioning the name of Jokowi, do you ever hear about him?  An attached video below is little bit information about Jokowi if you never heard anything about him. He is the third Best Governor in the world and one of 50 Greatest Leaders in the World. For more detail about him, you can read it from Wikipedia. He is a candidate of Indonesian President 2014. Today, July 9, 2014, Indonesia is holding direct presidential election. I hope it will go smoothly and I want to see his name crafted with a new title: Indonesian President, 2014-2019. (*)

Giant Concert, as one of Jokowi campaigns that none of Indonesian president candidates
did it before.
Many people love him. His simple performance with the strength of his heart for better Indonesia have won Indonesians' hearts.
