Still Standing

I have been having cough since in the beginning of April 2013.  It was the stupidest thing I ever did.  I dusted basement without wearing mask.  After finished, I had cough right away.  On Thursday in this week I'll have an appointment to see doctor.  I hope everything will be fine.  It has filled my mind, so worried about my cough and other health problem meanwhile I'm still busy with my work, my online activities, and my study.  It seems I will be late to finish my study by the end of June or before the end of summer.  I scheduled for 7 months but it seems it would be late till 8-9 months.  That's OK: slowly but I'm sure I'll get great result.

This afternoon I got a new blessing.  Still Standing, a song by Israel Houghton gave me the strength.  Day by day, month by month, year by year, the temptations never stop and we have to face them--like or unlike. When I said to my friend, "What God will give me in this year or next year? You can't imagine how tired to face them every year."  And she replied, "I pray this year.  It will be the blessing year for you and family."

That was a very sweet thought.  Thank you.

The devotional message on last Sunday mentioned: We still stand is not because we are strong but he sustain us. (Amen)

Still Standing by Israel Houghton

Verse One: You gave me courage to believe that all your goodness I will see
and if it had not been for you standing on my side where would I be

Chorus: If not for your goodness, if not for your grace, I don't know where I would be today
if not for your kindness I never could say I'm still standing
if not for your mercy, if not for your love, I most likely would have given up
if not for your favor I never could say I'm still standing but by the grace of God

Verse Two: To you I lift my offering and set my heart on higher things for if it had not been for you standing on my side where would I be

Vamp: I'm still standing, I'm standing, I'm still standing but by the grace of God (*)

CELEBRATING OUR 10TH ANNIVERSARY (I): Ten Years Ago and Today

When I'm starting to write this post at 12.43 PM right now, I remember at the same date and time ten years ago, my husband and I, the children, my brother in law, Christopher, and some friends were having small party.  We were having lunch and enjoyed foods I cooked.  I prepared a day before and early in the morning before I got ready for my wedding.  Can you imagine it?  The children came early in the morning.  Sissy brought a medium bowl of fruits salad with real flowers as the topping.  I don't remember what the flower's name is.  That was a new thing for me.  Mimmy brought two her close friends and Bubby didn't feel good, but he was able to come.  My husband helped me to prepare everything.  I would like to share the pictures but my scanner doesn't work right now, so it's better I'll continue my story.

In the back yard of our apartment,1250 Providence Rd, Secane, we both vowed in our marriage:

The Groom: I, Gregory Abbott, take you, Fida Rojana, to be my wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death us do part, according to God's holy law, and this is my solemn vow.

The Bride: I, Fida Rojana, take you, Gregory Abbott, to be my husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death us do part, according to God's holy law, and this is my solemn vow.

The judge: "I introduce you a new married couple:  Mr. Gregory Abbott and Mrs. Fida Abbott!"

We both kissed each other while others gave applause to us.
Finally we got married after 1 year and a half having long distance relationship!

After everybody enjoyed their foods, we had time to play the music and danced inside our apartment. My husband had a favorite song that he would like to play for us and everybody to dance.  It was from the cassette I brought from Indonesia.  The singer is from Malaysia, Siti Nurhaliza, and her song title is: Betapa Kucinta Padamu (How Much I Love You) as you can watch its video for karaoke version below.

And today, I sit in my office to write this special post in our special day while my husband is working and I got approval from my ex-assistant manager to take a day off. I cleaned the whole house, down stair and up stair, polished my nails and toes, took some pictures, write this post, soon I will cook, and wait for a special delivery come this afternoon. It would be a very special gift and big surprise for my husband to celebrate our 10th Anniversary.

Then in the night after my husband comes home from work, we will have a special time. What is that??? If you're interested to know what it is, please, stay tuned to read the next post. Thank you for your time to read this special post.

Happy 10th Anniversary, my darling Husband!

A Special Birthday Gift For Sissy: Impossible Dream

My post this time is little bit different.  It is a special post as a birthday gift for my daughter, Sissy, who had birthday on May 25.  She ever told me about her dream.  It gave me an inspiration to post something below for her special day.  I wish her dream will come true as my dream has come true and still--will--continue.

Impossible Dream by Luther Vandross is one of my favorite songs and he is also one of my favorite western male singers.

Reaching a dream isn't easy.  It takes a lot of efforts, discipline, a brave to take many challenges and risks and be ready for a battle (between facing the real life and process of reaching that dream).

Happy Belated Birthday, Sissy!  My prayers will be always for you and all family members.

Impossible Dream
by Luther Vandross

To dream the impossible dream
To fight the unbeatable foe
To bear with unbearable sorrow
And to run where
the brave dare not go
To right the unrightable wrong
And to love pure and chaste from afar
To try when your arms are too weary
To reach the unreachable star
This is my quest
To follow that star
No matter how hopeless
No matter how far
To fight for the right
Without question or pause
To be willing to march,
march into hell
For that heavenly cause
And I know
If I'll only be true
To this glorious quest
That my heart
Will lie peaceful and calm
When I'm laid to my rest
And the world will be
better for this
That one man, scorned
and covered with scars,
Still strove with his last
ounce of courage
To reach the unreachable,
the unreachable,
The unreachable star
And I'll always dream
The impossible dream
Yes, and I'll reach
The unreachable star

Your Body Is A Wonderland

What do you think about your body? Or what does your husband think about your body? When we talk about our body, there are always some people feel uncomfortable to talk about it.

For me, our body is a gift from God we need to take care of. So if there is a compliment come about our body, we should be glad, thank, and accept it as an appreciation of how we have taken care God's gift very nicely and carefully. Have you?

My husband used to say that he was a lucky man to have me as his wife.

Happy Sunday and enjoy this video!

 Your Body Is A Wonderland
by John Mayer

We got the afternoon
You got this room for two
One thing I've left to do
Discover me
Discovering you

One mile to every inch of
Your skin like porcelain
One pair of candy lips and
Your bubblegum tongue

'Cause if you want love
We'll make it
Swimming a deep sea
Of blankets
Take all your big plans
And break 'em
This is bound to be a while

Your body Is a wonderland
Your body is a wonder (I'll use my hands)
Your body Is a wonderland

Something 'bout the way the hair falls in your face
I love the shape you take when crawling towards the pillowcase
You tell me where to go and
Though I might leave to find it
I'll never let your head hit the bed
Without my hand behind it

you want love?
We'll make it
Swimming a deep sea
Of blankets
Take all your big plans
And break 'em
This is bound to be a while

Your body Is a wonderland
Your body is a wonder (I'll use my hands)
Your body Is a wonderland

Damn baby
You frustrate me
I know you're mine all mine all mine
But you look so good it hurts sometimes

Your body Is a wonderland
Your body is a wonder (I'll use my hands)
Your body Is a wonderland
Your body is a wonderland

Big Changes

Hello All,

I missed blogging since I started my new job last Thursday. Full time position brings big difference in my daily activities. Everyhting I have planned almost changes. But anyway, I thanked God that getting a new job was a blessing when I really needed it. Test and interview went well and I enjoyed my new job although I could not avoid how tired I was after in home. I think I just need more time to adjust my schedule and new transition. I believe in the couple months, I will be fine, at least I will be used to it.

Well, in the next several weeks it will be Easter, so I think I would love to bring my post here in Easter theme until Easter comes. Last Sunday at church we sang "Majesty". I love this song, it can bring my soul come to God every time I sing its refrein. Below I will attach its video and its lyrics and I hope they will bring something good in your soul. (Remember! Big change happened because He was rised!)

Majesty (Here I am)
by Delirious

Here I am humbled by your Majesty
Covered by your grace so free
Here I am, knowing I'm a sinful man
Covered by the blood of the Lamb

Now I've found the greatest love of all is mine
Since you laid down your life
The greatest sacrifice

Majesty, Majesty
Your grace has found me just as I am
Empty handed, but alive in your hands
Majesty, Majesty
Forever I am changed by your love
In the presence of your Majesty

Here I am humbled by the love that you give
Forgiven so that I can forgive
Here I stand, knowing that I'm your desire
Sanctified by glory and fire

Now I've found the greatest love of all is mine
Since you laid down your life
The greatest sacrifice

NEW YEAR REFLECTION (5): Action, Action and Action

Since my little daughter is getting bigger, she also changes her favorite TV channels from Noggin, PBS Kids, Nick Jr to Nickcelodeon and Disney. I am as her mom, like or dislike, I have to watch sometimes together when accompanying her. From that activity I found several interesting shows to watch. One of them is a song entitled Make It Shine from Victoria Justice in her TV show: Victorious. Music, lyrics, the color of her voice and how she dances are great. She is a very talented young girl. I like her a lot.

Below I attach its video and its lyrics and hope they will help you to raise your spirit not to be afraid to put your dream in action. Every action you make, it will bring you closer to reach your goals/dreams.

Take some steps today, if only a few, and tomorrow you’ll be that much closer to your goal.

Good luck!

Make it Shine

(1st verse)

Here I am, once again
feeling lost but now and then
I breath it in to let it go

and you don't know
where you are now
with what it will come to
if only somebody could hear
When you figure out how
your lost in the moment
you disappear

(Chorus)

You don't have to be afraid to put your dream in action
you're never gonna fade you'll be the main attraction
Not a fantasy
Just remember me
when it turns our right
'cause you know that if you live in your imagination
tomorrow you'll be everybody's fascination
In my victory
Just remember me
when i make it shine!

(2nd verse)

Reaching high
feeling low
I'm holding on but letting go

I like to shine
I'll shine for you

And it's time to show the world how
it's a little bit closer
as long as I'm ready to go

All we have is right now
as long as you feel it inside you know ....

(Chorus)

(Bridge)

Everyone can tell you how it's all been said and done (Ooo whoa)
That harder times will change your mind and make you wanna run
But you want it
And you need it
Like you need to breath the air
If they doubt you
Just believe it
That's enough to get you there

(Chorus)

NEW YEAR REFLECTION (2): Look Into Yourself

Look Into Yourself

I'm tired of letting go all that I've tried to have
I'm tired of wasting time looking up to the wrong stars
I do believe in life and that everything is written
But life is not a book with pages wide-opened

Don't search too far, my mother says
Sometimes all that you need is only a step away

Look into yourself
The one and only
Look into yourself
If you want to find the key
A look into yourself
Release your heart free
Look into yourself
And be the master of your destiny

Don't be afraid of wanting changes in your life
Don't be afraid to go to wherever you decide
Believe in yourself and believe in what you can do
And no one can deny the will that lies in you

Try to pay more attention
And live your life with good intentions

Look into yourself
The one and only
Look into yourself
If you want to find the key
A look into yourself
Release your heart free
Look into yourself
And be the master of your destiny

Look into yourself
Cause there's a rainbow
Look into yourself
There is so much more that you need to know
Cause in yourself
There's serenity
It's all in yourself
You are the master of your destiny

For every doubt you face
In every step you take
For choices that you make
Dreams aren't made to be erased

Just look into yourself
Look into yourself
The master of your destiny

It's in yourself
The master of your destiny
It's in yourself

Those beautiful lyrics I copied and pasted from here. The singer who sings that song is Anggun C. Sasmi. She is one of my favorite international singers who comes from Indonesia and now lives in French.

What have you learned from those lyrics? Does any new energy come up from your soul after reading them? I do. That lyrics help me maintain my spirit to keep looking into myself. And I hope it will work same for you: just LOOK INTO YOURSELF, THE MASTER OF YOUR DESTINY!!!

REFLECTION (2): Twelve Days Before Christmas

My sister in law sent a video yesterday and I thought it was suitable for the theme I would like to write for my second post of Christmas Reflection. So, below I attach it with its lyric.

What we have learned from this event? Togetherness in singing and the joy they had in the time when they sang that song. It reminded me when I was still in Indonesia. With my Vocal Group, several weeks before Christmas, we were busy practicing to prepare for the Christmas songs we would sing at some places. We got invitations from companies, churches and organizations that celebrated Christmas. Our service was free--no charge--even we spent our own money for transportation. Some of them sometimes gave us an envelope filled with some amount of money that we never asked for. We never counted the energy, time and money we had spent but the joy of giving into the song and togetherness among us were so sweet and impressive.

What we had done was one of the kinds of giving. Giving doesn't mean to be something that we can touch and see. Giving in singing is something that we can listen and sometimes it can touch our heart and bring us closer to our CREATOR.

That was one of the things I liked when Christmas came: the joy of singing together. I believe this video below will bring you the Joy of Having Messiah who has saved our life. Come on, we sing together! Praise to the Lord who has given us His own son to save the world. Hallelujah Hallejuah Hallelujah!!! . . . (don't forget to turn off the volume of my Christmas Song Box at the bottom of this blog before you click "play" to watch this video and listen how the joy when they sang)

On Saturday, October 30, 2010, the Opera Company of Philadelphia brought together over 650 choristers from 28 participating organizations to perform one of the Knight Foundation's "Random Acts of Culture" at Macy's in Center City Philadelphia. Accompanied by the Wanamaker Organ - the world's largest pipe organ - the OCP Chorus and throngs of singers from the community infiltrated the store as shoppers, and burst into a pop-up rendition of the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel's "Messiah" at 12 noon, to the delight of surprised shoppers. This event is one of 1,000 "Random Acts of Culture" to be funded by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation over the next three years.

Handel's Messiah (The Hallelujah Chorus) Lyrics

allelujah (Aleluya)

Hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah
Hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah

For the lord God omnipotent reigneth
Hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah
For the lord God omnipotent reigneth
Hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah
For the lord God omnipotent reigneth
Hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah

Hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah
Hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah
(For the lord God omnipotent reigneth)
Hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah

For the lord God omnipotent reigneth
(Hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah)
Hallelujah

The kingdom of this world;
is become
the kingdom of our Lord,
and of His Christ
and of His Christ

And He shall reign for ever and ever
And he shall reign forever and ever
And he shall reign forever and ever
And he shall reign forever and ever

King of kings forever and ever hallelujah hallelujah
and lord of lords forever and ever hallelujah hallelujah
King of kings forever and ever hallelujah hallelujah
and lord of lords forever and ever hallelujah hallelujah
King of kings forever and ever hallelujah hallelujah
and lord of lords
King of kings and lord of lords

And he shall reign
And he shall reign
And he shall reign
He shall reign
And he shall reign forever and ever

King of kings forever and ever
and lord of lords hallelujah hallelujah
And he shall reign forever and ever

King of kings and lord of lords
King of kings and lord of lords
And he shall reign forever and ever

Forever and ever and ever and ever
(King of kings and lord of lords)

Hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah
Hallelujah

Here Without You

I was stunned with this music video while I was going to start editing my manuscript. Yes, I have finished my translating on last Thursday (before I left home in the afternoon with my husband and my girls for Thanksgiving dinner to New Jersey) and since then I could not wait to finish editing it soon.

This music video reminded me when I had my lovely fiance. I loved him so much and now I miss that feeling I ever had. I'm sure you will understand how having that feelling if you ever falled in love with someone, especially if you live far away from him. And this video brought me when I was in that situation--the best love I ever had with someone who lived thousands miles away from my country.

I think I should turn on this music video before I continue writing the 4th chapter of my second novel (romance novel) next year--probably I will play it every time before I write. Who knows??? It has inspired me and I'm sure it will influence me in writing the story. Really.

Enjoy this song. I'm sure you will love it, too.

Here Without You

A hundred days have made me older
Since the last time that I saw your pretty face
A thousand lies have made me colder
And I don't think I can look at this the same
But all the miles that separate
Disappear now when I'm dreaming of your face

I'm here without you baby
But you're still on my lonely mind
I think about you baby
And I dream about you all the time

I'm here without you baby
But you're still with me in my dreams
And tonight it's only you and me, yeah

The miles just keep rollin'
As the people leave their way to say hello
I've heard this life is overrated
But I hope that it gets better as we go, oh yeah yeah

I'm here without you baby
But you're still on my lonely mind
I think about you baby
And I dream about you all the time

I'm here without you baby
But you're still with me in my dreams
And tonight girl it's only you and me

Everything I know and anywhere I go
It gets hard but it won't take away my love
And when the last one falls, when it's all said and done
It gets hard but it won't take away my love, whoa

I'm here without you baby
But you're still on my lonely mind
I think about you baby
And I dream about you all the time

I'm here without you baby
But you're still with me in my dreams
And tonight girl it's only you and me, yeah oh yeah oh

News of The Day and Revelation Song

Dear All,

What a good morning I have today. I have several news that I'm going to tell you. This morning I have gotten the final news that I can start my new project. One of Indonesia publishers has been interested to publish my novel Enthusiasm in Indonesia next year. The name of publisher will be announced when my book is published. This week I will start doing my new project by translating my manuscrpts chapter by chapter. By the end of January, I hope everything will be done completely.

Another news about my second book signing on last Saturday, it was great. I met several members of the Board of Trustees. They are very nice and friendly people and this made me feel comfortable and accepted, especially when I did introducing myself in front of the attendances. I had several great experiences and stories. I hope this week I will have time to download the pictures and will share here soon.

Btw, I really want to share a great song before I end this post. Every time I sing this song, it can lift my heart. I want to lift my hands and my tears start coming.
I attach a video and its lyrics here. One of the best part in this lyrics say "You are my everything." Yes, HE is. (I start having tears now). HE is my everything. Without HIM, I don't know what happens with me. Life is not easy, sometimes happiness and sadness come without any invitation but we have to face it, either we like it or not. If we still can stand right now, it is not because of ourselves but because of HIM who has given us great strength to face our life.

Enjoy the song and feel free to express yourself.
God bless us!

REVELATION SONG

Worthy is the,
Lamb who was slain
Holy, Holy, is He
Sing a new song, to Him who sits on
Heaven's Mercy Seat
[Repeat 2x]

(Chorus)
Holy, Holy, Holy
Is the Lord God Almighty
Who was, and is, and is to come
With all creation I sing:
Praise to the King of Kings!
You are my everything,
And I will adore You…!
Yeah!

Clothed in rainbows, of living color
Flashes of lightning, rolls of thunder
Blessing and honor, strength and
Glory and power be
To You the Only Wise King,
Yeah

(Chorus)
Holy, Holy, Holy
Is the Lord God Almighty
Who was, and is, and is to come, yeah
With all creation I sing:
Praise to the King of Kings!
You are my everything,
And – I - will - adore You!
Yeah!

Filled with wonder,
Awestruck wonder
At the mention of Your Name
Jesus, Your Name is Power
Breath, and Living Water
Such a marvelous mystery
Yeah...

(Chorus)
Holy, Holy, Holy
Is the Lord God Almighty
Who was, and is, and is to come, yeah
With all creation I sing:
Praise to the King of Kings!
You are my everything,
And – I - will - adore You!

Holy, Holy, Holy
Is the Lord God Almighty
Who was, and is, and is to come,
With all creation I sing:
Praise to the King of Kings!
You are my everything,
And – I - will - adore YOU…

(Chorus) (Repeat at a cappella)

Come up lift up His Name
To the King of Kings…
We will adore YOU Lord…
King of heaven and earth
King Jesus, King Jesus
Aleluya, aleluya, aleluya!
Majesty, awestruck Honor
And Power and Strength and Dominion
To You Lord,
To the King, to King
To the King of Glory

(Singer: Kari Jobe)

VIDEO: The Way You Love Me

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!

I'm sure most everybody won't miss this special day to show their love to their family and friends.

Today I would like to thank to many friends via Facebook, SMS, emails and comments to wish me Happy Birthday and Happy Valentines Day, especially for the new pregnancy. I haven't made a formal announcement here yet because I haven't seen my doctor yet. The huge snow and finding the right time also make everything has to wait. I hope next week, on Wednesday or Thursday I will get an appointment to see her and make sure my pregnancy is fine, nothing to worry about as right now I still have spotting since last Thursday, February 11, on my Birthday. I have searched some topics engaging with spotting and bleeding during pregnancy period. Although I understand it, I'm still worried, meanwhile since last Monday I have started to have morning sickness though it is still in the low level.

Well, I think I should not to worry too much. I believe God will take care everything. Now, I just wait for my children to come and celebrate my Birthday and Valentines day. I won't cook big food anymore. Simple, easy and delicious food have been prepared since yesterday. I also have a special Valentines Gift for every member in the family -- my husband and my four childrens.

I also would like to thank to Mariuca, Henny, Blue Jasmine and Blanca who have left their comments in my lasy post. Congratulations to Mariuca as the first person who give the right comment/ answer. Please, wait the announcement next month what a special gift I would like to send to you.

To celebrate this special day, I attach one of my favorite songs below, titled "The Way You Love Me" and its lyric. This special song is a special gift to my husband. It reminds me when we still lived far eachother, thousand miles away, before we married, and almost everyday he called me, sometimes several times a day. Crazy!!! he, he... But that is a love, sometimes you never know what you have done because you are falling in love with someone who has stolen your heart. Oh, I really miss having feelings in that moment. Now we meet everyday. He doesn't need to spend a lot of money to call me everyday but I'm sure he has to be ready to spend more money for another new family member who will come to the world in the next nine months, ha, ha, ha, . . .!!!!

Enjoy this song, guys!!! And have a wonderful valentines day!!!
See you next week.

The Way You Love Me

If I could grant
You one wish
I'd wish you could see the way you kiss
Ooh, I love watching you
Baby
When you're driving me crazy

Ooh, I love the way you
Love the way you love me
There's nowhere else I'd rather be
Ooh, to feel the way I feel with your arms around me
I only wish that you could see the way you love me
The way you love

It's not right
It's not fair
What you're missing over there
Someday I'll find a way to show you
Just how lucky I am to know you

Ooh, I love the way you
Love the way you love me
There's nowhere else I'd rather be
Ooh, to feel the way I feel with your arms around me
I only wish that you could see the way you love me
The way you love me

You're the million reasons why
There's love reflecting in my eyes

Ooh, I love the way you
Love the way you love me
There's nowhere else I'd rather be
Ooh, to feel the way I feel with your arms around me
I only wish that you could see the way you love me
The way you love me
The way you love me

Ooh, the way you love me
The way you love me

The Corrs: Toss the Feathers

Hi Guys, Thanksgiving is over and now we are preparing for the next big holiday of the year, Christmas. I'm glad my progress has been done as I expected and tomorrow, on Monday (November 30, 2009), I will start another new project, writing the second book of Amerindo Kitchen in series. My goal for this book will be done before Christmas, then I will prepare for the next second class for the online writing course that will be started in January 11th, 2010 for fifteen weeks. During that periode, I will prepare to write a book in Indonesian that will be used for a special class in 2011 online writing course (PMOH), and the rest of 2010 year, I will enjoy my first upcoming publsihed novel and prepare for the second novel. It will be very busy for me but this is a great challange in my upcoming special year, 2010.

In the next post I will attach some Thanksgiving pictures and videos, and now I would like to share a video of my favorite band, The Corrs. They are not only three beautiful women, but they are very talented. I always adore the people who are very talented in music, singing, writing, broadcasting, crafting, gardening, designing, cooking and landscaping. Those fields are my interests.

Enjoy 'Toss the Feathers' and let me know what you think.
