What were there in the Abbott's garden between last spring - mid autumn??

Last year before moving to our new house, I collected the seeds from the kind of this fruit. It was so sweet and good quality. I had an idea to make little experiment with cleaning all the seeds and drying them in around a week or more. I would like to know how the generation before it and I thought it would be fun + I would learn how planting the fruits/vegetables here in different weather. I knew it would not be the same like the fruit I had bought already but I was really curious and I would like to apply my knowledge in genetic study that I ever had before. Finally I got a new varity from that fruit. The difference of the new fruit from the old fruit was the surface of the skin shape. This generation has no plain surface (wavy) but the fruit that I bought was so plain.
The same characteristics both of them are they were sweet. The first harvest was very sweet and the second harvest was very little sweet.
