A Castle Cake for Prince Will and Princess Ariel

Last Sunday, the Abbott Kingdom had a very simple Birthday celebration for their two family members, Prince Will and Princess Ariel. The queen had enjoyed practicing her first castle cake as you can see the pictures below. She had fun in creating it though it wasn't perfect but it still looks good, doesn't it?

The queen also cooked the chicken curry and deviled eggs, made tomatoes and sweet onion salsa, yumm!!! Every member enjoyed all the foods.

Happy belated Birthday Prince Will and Princess Ariel!!!

January Message

I know it is late if I write January Quote right now. I miss this one as I promised to myself to include a quote every month for the first week.

It's Your Time to Shine in 2010!

This is your year. Make it a sandout by following a fitness routine that works for you. Schedule in great nutrition, regular exercise and enough rest so you can be your vibrant best each day. Get the health screenings your healthcare practitioner recommens. If you use tobacco, resolve to quit for life. Give yourself plenty of support when making lifestyle changes, then keep your eyes on the prize and make yourself proud! (Source: Breast Cancer Awareness)

Video of Making a Castle Cake

January 25 is my little daughter birthday. She wants me to bring cupcakes to her class to celebrate her birthday with her teacher and friends. It will be easy for me. I don't need to worry about this. I just order it at Wal-Mart and bring it to her school.

By the way, I am thinking what kind of cake I would like to make for her birthday when we will celebrate with other family members in home. I like trying the new things and it has been so long I would like to try making a castle cake as she loves the princess stuff.

This morning I got an e-newsletter from DisneyFamily.com and I was so surprised, they include an info and a video about how to make a castle cake as you can see its video above.

I was very glad. That information came just in the right time. Guys, I can not wait to make that castle cake soon. It will be so much fun!!

Turning A Good Story into A God Story (2)

by Pastor Dan O'Deens

I'm sure you still remember well about Joseph's story. It is one of my favorite stories in Bible and we should learn from this story how God had used Joseph's life for HIS BIG PLAN!!!!

Review the story of Joseph's early life from Genesis 37, then discuss the family dynamics that are taking place here. Put yourself in Joseph's shoes, then his brothers, then his father. Mistakes made! What could have been done to better the family situation?

Remember, Joseph's dreams didn't place him in a pit, or in a slave caravan to Egypt. Then discuss this observation below:
"Although we like to achieve instant success. God often develops leaders in the crucible of prolonged suffering."

Consider other times when God's Mysterious Actions are displayed through the lives of people who choose to follow Him: Esther 4-8, Job 1-3. 42, Jonah 1-4, Philippians 1 and Hebrews 11-12

Review these principles from the life of Joseph (Genesis 39)

God is with me in the middle of my conflict.
John 14:16-17, Pslam 23:4

It is only when we trust God in the middle of our conflict that we will find Him.
John 16:33

Don't forget you should also review the story of Joseph's middle life from Genesis 42-45. Read Joseph's testimony in 45:8 (What do you do in your life, when God has seemed silent, but He has clearly not been absent?

Then discuss this observation below:
"You will never experience all the good that can come from the bad in your life until you are first willing to acknowledge that God was with you in the bad and then refuse to play God when things are good."

Below, there are three questions you should answer:
1. What conflict do I find myself in now?
2. Is there evidence in my life that shows my confidence of God's presence with me?
3. How will I respond in the middle of the conflict knowing that God is with me?

Turning A Good Story into A God Story (1)

A day after Christmas, my daughter had fever then several days after that, I started having cough and sour throat. Today I still have cough but feel much better than last week. Thank to God when the weather is so very bad during last week and this week, my work schedule decreases. Of course I won't make much money in this period but I will have more rest and am ready for online writing class that will start next Monday. So everything is fine for me, especially I have to finish reviewing my manuscript this week in next several days.

As my promise before Christmas that I would like to post something interesting I got from church, below I will share it to all of you, Finding Our Hope in An Epic Story: Turning A Good Story into A God Story by Pastor Dan O'Deens.

References: Gen 37:2-5, 23-28, Gen 39:1-2, Gen 41:55, 42:1-7, 45:3-11, 50:15-20

"What would somene in our circumstances do if they were absolutely confident that God was with them?"
Emmanuel... God is with Us!
* Responding to your conflict as though you were confident that God was with you.

The Truth about Your Conflict

* God is with you in the middle of your conflict.

And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever - the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. (John 14:16-17).

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. (Psalm 23:4)

* It is only when we trust God in the middle of our conflict that we will find Him.

I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. (John 16:33)

... Years later:

* God has seemingly been silent, but he has clearly not been absent.

* Yo will never experince all the good that can come from the bad in your life until you are first willing to acknowledge that God was with you in the bad, and then refuse to play God when things are good.

Editing Your Life Story

- What conflict do you find yourslef in wight now?
- Is there any evidence from those watching your story unfold that would suggest that you are confident that God is with you?
- How will you respond to your conflict knowing that God is right there with you?

Remember what God gives us; FORGIVENESS, GRACE and MERCY.
